A lot of customers are still looking for an easy way to visualize data from SAP BW. SAP is pushing Hana and lumera very hard, with a bw connecter we can push a little bit back

I was able to connect to SAP BW, but only have access authorization to read partial of cubes/tables. Anyway to make it work to only access authorized data? Thanks.

Make sure your queries are set to enable access OLE DB for OLAP

I was able to make this work and the connection is great if I need a full data set. But many of my cubes require parameters to be entered upon run time and I don't see any way to add in a parameter value or filter. Without this capability, we can't use PowerBI for our primary reports and the SAP BI team wins.

Followed Vinay SCN doc as shown in lower post on Win8.1 device (copied librfc32.dll from /windows/sysWOW64 to /windows/system32 is the only place where I deviated from script) Details: "SAP Business Warehouse: An error occured when contacting the service: Cannot call classic RFC API. See help for details. Please put a recent 64-bit version of librfc32.dll in your System32 folder (typically C:\Windows\System32). See SAP note 413708. Please make sure you have installed Visual C++ 2005 SP1 ATL Security Update (x64)."

Meanwhile SAP promoting the same future as Power BI in SAP Cloud for Analytics Which is similar User Interface as Power BI and it is tightly connect to SAP BW and SAP BPC. May those who looking for hassle free integration with sap and supporting the Variables , Parameters and hierarchies , Etc..

For 64 bit , Im getting the below message. I believe most the users are experiencing the same. Details: "SAP Business Warehouse: An error occured when contacting the service: Cannot call classic RFC API. See help for details. Please put a recent 64-bit version of librfc32.dll in your System32 folder (typically C:\Windows\System32). See SAP note 413708. Please make sure you have installed Visual C++ 2005 SP1 ATL Security Update (x64)." i got the DLL file downloaded and put in syntem32 folder.. still same issue. do you know how to fix this..

Same experience as Sreenivasan. I'm on Win10 64, BW server is on HP-UX IA64. Frustrating....
