New report page tooltip preview feature in the March update is great. Would be nice if we had the option of adding this tooltip to visuals that previously didn't have a tooltip. For example, I have a card visual. I'd like users to get one of these mini report pages pop-up when they hover over it but as this visual doesn't have a tooltip it can't be used. Would be great if we can do this on other things like shapes and text boxes as well.

- nishalitNew MemberSince the initial release, we added support for table, matrix, and cards. https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-july-2018-feature-summary/#tableTooltips https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-september-2018-feature-summary/#tooltips I'll leave this idea open for now since there are some requests for shapes, textboxes, and buttons, but it would be helpful if people can comment on their use cases for report page tooltips on these non-visual report elements.
- tmckenzie3New MemberEspecially the matrix visual
- ltplNew MemberCompletely agree. It's a great feature and I was extremely excited about it due to its applications on many of my table/matrix visualisations. Great to have for charts, but even better if we can have this for more visuals.
- paulborrettNew MemberReal shame that the tooltip functionality isn't available on table and matrix, as these are definitely two major areas that would benefit from this addition.
- rafaelpianistaNew MemberWe need this on table and matrix visuals.
- SThornburgNew MemberI concur about the value of tooltips and the newer Report Page tooltip across more visualizations, including the table and matrix. Got my vote.
- jsh1219881New MemberWe need this on buttons too. I could then use the info icon, and display a custom text box / page on hover.
- jkinneyNew MemberI agree the tooltip function needs to be expanded to all tables, shapes, buttons. This would greatly improve the ability to save space and the user can still see the details.
- kay_starnes1New MemberI have a problem with the dual axis bar line graph that occurred after last upgrade. The desktop version has the correct decimals on the items selected for the tool tip. When published the numbers go from 3 digits to maximum amount of digits. I tested the table formatting and query also but the published version won't correct to 3 digits.
- hhbuNew MemberI really like the tooltips on objects (we primarily use it on table and matrix (though I could see the benefits on other objects like charts). My main concern is, that when you use in on a table/matrix is works on the hole row. You should be able to choose to only show it on a specific column (a table with lots of rows and columns) - the problem is that it shows up all the time when you use your mouse to navigate/read a specific row in the table. Just a thought from our users... :-)
