Remember Custom (Date) Formats

As is the case with Excel, there should be an option to 'remember' custom date and other formats, adding them to the dropdown in the Data view. For instance, we are required to use dd mmm yyyy, which is not an option from the list. It can be hard typed but I have t do this (or copy & paste) for each date field.
