Reference by name OR GUID in data pipelines

When trying to set up a dynamic data pipeline you currently have the option to use IDs, however this means that there is some admin involved when you want to deploy a pipeline from dev->test->prod in that you have to manually change the IDs for the specific environment. If we could use the name of the workspace/notebook/object/stored proc etc from a drop down list or manually instead that would make it a lot easier to make new deployments and save us from having to find all the IDs etc.

  • Have you tried using the Git integration in Fabric data factory pipelines?

I am facing an issue as well. I have deployed a pipeline from Dev to Test and saved the workspace ID as a library variable. However, invoking the pipeline requires the pipeline GUID. Since I will be using hundreds of pipelines in Fabric, manually mapping all the IDs will be difficult. Also, how can I know the GUID when deploying for the first time?
