Rebinding Reports to new Datasets instead of deleting them

If I need to change the schema for a Dataset I currently have to drop the dataset (which deletes any associated reports from the Power BI workspace), re-post it, fix the links manually in Power BI Desktop, them reupload those. Would we be able to have the option to preserve reports when deleting datasets so we can rebind them afterwards? I understand the issue with reports not being able to find data if the schema changes drastically but this would be a nice convenience feature.
