We have encountered an issue in Power BI while transitioning our authentication mode from Basic to Key Pair, as recommended by Snowflake.
During testing, we observed that the Key Pair implementation uses OAuth 2.0, which consumes significant memory and leads to query queuing in Snowflake.
We have raised a support ticket with Microsoft (#2602040030003435) @support@mail.support.microsoft.com. Their product team has confirmed this is a known issue documented in their technical resources (Power Query Snowflake connector - Power Query | Microsoft Learn).
