Description:
Currently, the loader/“visual is loading” indicator in Power BI is very small and often goes unnoticed by users. This leads to confusion, as users are unable to distinguish whether a visual is actively loading, frozen, or failing to render. Introducing a more visible loader or a load-time indicator for visuals would greatly improve the report experience.
Importance:
This is not just a cosmetic enhancement—it is a critical usability need. Reports with heavy datasets or complex visuals often take longer to load, and without a clear indication, users may assume the report is broken or unreliable. A prominent loader or timer ensures transparency, builds user trust, and reduces repeated refreshes or escalations caused by perceived errors.
By making the loader more visible or by showing the load-time, Power BI can deliver a more intuitive and professional experience for end users, especially in business-critical environments where every second of clarity matters.
