PowerBI reports and dashboard on-premise hosting

As per available documentation, power bi reports and dashboards will be published to microsoft cloud. It is very awesome approach as it saves all overhead of maintaining infrastructure. But there are case where on-premise hosting is required, Can we configure on-premise server to host power bi reports just like SSRS reports?

We really really want to use Microsoft Power BI but without an on-prem solution, we cannot use it. I beg Microsoft to consider this.

While newer versions of SQL Server work great as an on-prem solution, I would like to provide my non-IT colleagues with a space where they can rapidly develop and share ad-hoc data models. Company policy prevents us from using a cloud based solution.

maybe after the testing & debugging phase is over?

We hope Microsoft will find a solution very soon since regulations in the Middle East forbid banks to publish customer information on the cloud.

Evaluating Tableau. Would love to know where this falls on the roadmap as our organization would prefer a full MS solution.

Our company policy is Not to store company data at Microsoft. It couldn't be more clear what happens if we do, thanks to Snowden. That will never change. We installed Tableau while we wait for an on-prem solution (Sharepoint) from MS. Pyramidanalytics is a desparate (shortterm) move. 365 is built on top of Sharepoint. So Datazen will most likely be the bridge between Sharepoint and PowerBI. But there is no known Roadmap for a on-prem solution, and we only take decisions based on what we know.

MS/Users what is the status on this project? Can I slate this for a quarter next year for onsite hosting?

One of my colleagues is at a PowerBI class and just learned that PowerBI on-premise will require SQL Server 2016 which won't release until after SQL Pass. We would really like to be a full MS shop but we won't deploy SQL Server 2016 until at least SP1. Microsoft needs to develop PowerBI on-premise with SQL Server 2014 at minimum. We are evaluating BI solutions now and like what we see with PowerBI, but this isn't fitting into our plan to have a decision by year-end.
