PowerBI Azure Map - Legend sorted randomly when using latitude/longitude data with size attribute for pie charts
Hi,
Whe using Azure map, with latitude / longitude data, and size to make pie charts with various assets, the legend is no longer sorted alphabetically.
My legend is sorted alphabetically, if I take out the "size" variable from the configuration, but then my visual is no longer useful.
I suggest the legend to always be sorted alphabetically, or preferably, that you include a setting where this can be set!
This was discussed deeply with Microsoft support in ticket Microsoft Support TrackingID#2405160050001173 // ABB.
The conclusion is that it was not possible to fix the issue with randomly sorted legends, and that I raise this improvement here in the forum.
Please consider to improve UX of PowerBI and Azure maps.
Thanks.
Best regards
Peter

I've struck the same issue, but in a simpler scenario just showing sized bubbles for each lat/lon. I do not understand the benefit of sorting the legend by size. AFAIK no other built-in Power BI visual with a legend does this. Rather than add options and complexity, I would prefer if the dynamic sort by size was removed, and the legend sort always followed the sort order of the Legend field. This is how every other built-in Power BI visual functions.
