Power BI Subscriptions: Notify Subscription Owners When Recipient Email Addresses are Invalid
Customer has requested an enhancement to Power BI Subscriptions to provide notifications when a recipient email address is invalid or when a subscription email cannot be delivered successfully.
Currently, a subscription may appear to execute successfully even if one or more recipient email addresses are no longer valid or have become unavailable. As a result, subscription owners have no visibility into recipient-side delivery failures and may assume that all intended recipients are receiving the subscription emails.
It would be extremely beneficial if Power BI could notify subscription owners whenever:
- A recipient email address is invalid.
- An email delivery is rejected or bounced by the destination mail server.
- A recipient mailbox is no longer available.
- Repeated delivery failures occur for a subscription recipient.
Providing this functionality would help customers proactively identify outdated or invalid email addresses, maintain accurate subscription recipient lists, and ensure that critical reports and dashboards are delivered to all intended recipients.
This enhancement would improve subscription management, reduce manual validation efforts, and give subscription owners greater confidence in the successful delivery of their Power BI subscription emails.
We kindly request the product team to consider implementing a notification mechanism or delivery status monitoring feature for subscription recipients, as this would address a common customer scenario and significantly improve the overall subscription experience.
