Power BI Premium license for Developers

Add simple hourly based Premium license for developers to try new features and be able to support customers when they buy it. Another option would be to provide a paid subscription with a limit of hours per month. As we all know that Premium has the similar back-end as for Embedded capacity. So it can be possible to implement.

Yes, this would be great for Power BI teachers and developers to learn and spread the knowlegde. I teach Power BI for example, and since I can not buy premium (too expensive) it is difficult to keep up to date.

This is a big issue for me and many other Power BI Developers I know. Some form of developer licensing is required as currently we are unable to learn/test many new features that are restricted to Premium only. As it stands the price point for Premium is too expensive for most medium sized businesses. Trying to convince them of the benefits vs costs without being able to produce demos for them is problematic.

Matt Allington wrote a very good blog on switching on and off a premium capacity. Currently, we use that for testing Premium features without having extravagant costs. But I do agree completely with your idea!

We need a version we can learn from - currently you can only do this in a company who can afford the licences... meaning NO IT Pros can afford to learn stuff

If we can have Power BI Report Server and SQL Server in Developer Editions, why not Power BI Premium Developer (maybe with capacity/sharing limits). Currently it is impossible for independent developers to try out/test/demo Premium features. This is affecting our ability to show clients and, potentially, spread Power BI adoption

Yes, this is important. I got access through a client this week but I have never tried it before because of the cost.

At the very least you need to include this for Data Anlytics partners...

It will be great to learn the Premium version and help freelancers to promote the features to their clients as well... At least with limited capacity or limited time period
