Currently, the only way to establish a connection to Analysis services through the Power BI Gateway is by granting the user used in the gateway connection admin rights on Analysis Server (Manage SQL Server Analysis Services data sources - Power BI | Microsoft Learn). For any other datasource (Oracle, SQL, SAP, ...) this is not required.
If the Analysis Server is managed by another team, they are very reluctant (not to say refusing) to grant this extensive authorization for what in essence should only be a 'readonly' access.
I strongly suggest to review this set-up and improve the interoperability between in-house applications.
