Power BI Desktop Preview features enabled by default break workflow
This behaviour of enabling preview features by default needs to stop. The recent addition of the ADBC connection method for BigQuery caused considerable time loss and frustration - only to find it's a new preview feature, enabled by default.
It does not break refreshing existing models, but it is impossible to add new BigQuery sources via the wizard. You can, of course, start with a blank query and write the whole thing by hand and even use Implementation="2.0" in the connection with mixed, but mostly, successful outcomes. The wizard for the connector doesn't even have the Implementation option.
Do a better job of promoting preview features, rather than turning them on by default to force us to find out about them the hard way.
