I'm shocked that I'm required to download a new version of Power BI every time you roll out updates. It's 2015, push those updates via the web to my desktop app, how hard can that be?

- nishalitNew MemberAt Ignite 2017 we announced that Power BI Desktop is now available through the Windows Store! You can get it from http://aka.ms/pbidesktopstore We know that the majority of our users are already on Windows 10 so this should be a great way for you to keep up to date with Power BI Desktop automatically and without requiring admin permissions. If you're not planning to update to Windows 10, you can still get the .msi version in the same way we've made it available before. We can also evaluate making it available through Microsoft Update. You can vote for that here: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/31732477-make-desktop-available-through-microsoft-update-f Thanks!
- pbiideas1New MemberCurrently one needs admin rights to install Power BI Desktop. This means many people in a large enterprise cannot not easily try out Power BI. Plase provide a version that does not require admin rights during setup.
- huq_sami1New MemberYou Guys Are doing great. Every Month New Features keeps coming up and we test it up through downloading new msi file and enjoy it. Now wouldn't it be more logical and convenient to make it an auto update? I know its coming, but just mentioning it for the user convenience.. Keep Going, Keep going up.. Cheers, Sami
- seanfriscotxNew MemberAMEN!! Why does this only have only 22 votes?? This process of downloading a new version each time is just silly...
- fbcideas_migusrNew MemberI agree with this. It's a bit of a pain to update on multiple computers every month.
- vandopNew MemberGoogle Chrome update alike is something you should consider. Absolutely brilliant!
- shivaprasad_shaNew MemberThis is totally shocking that Microsoft product is not having Auto update feature enabled. Everytime the new update arrived I need get in touch with System admnistrator for this silly reason.
- nbentzingerNew MemberI'd prefer a WSUS like functionality. Offer it up as an available Classification I can approve for my users!
- fbcideas_migusrNew MemberAnd make sure it doesn't require Admin!
- tom_kfcNew MemberEverytime an update comes, have to package and deploy, how user friendly is this?
