I agree that the original idea should not be considered completed. 10,000 rows will not cut it for most users. Moving data back and forth between PBI and Excel should be a seamless process. Perhaps an admin could shed some light on the reason(s) that this basic functionality appears to be being held back.

We were evaluating Power BI as a replacement for Cognos, but the 30,000 row limit on CSV exports cripples the tool to the point that we are no longer considering it. Which is really a pity since it does so many neat things.

For more export limit and to be able to export directly to Excel from PBI Embedded, please vote on the idea: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/19741078-export-to-excel-from-powerbi-embedded

This needs to happen. And it is as simple as changing a limitation field. There should not be a limit for .CSV exports via Power BI Desktop.

This is the same issue as the link below which has more votes already https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/31837054-don-t-limit-download-data-file-sizes?page=1&per_page=20

The limitation must be eliminated and the capability to automate the export of a visualization summary must be provided. The possibilities are so huge if this can be done. And Yes, using PBI as an ETL platform with automation via DAX R etc would be so killer!

We understand that can export the lines that Excel supports.
