6 years agoThis is a great idea and one that the PBI Development team at Microsoft should seriously look into. While I fully agree with everything the author of this idea has suggested, my own situation more closely parallels Kirk's scenario below. Like Kirk, I need to be able to change the path for .xlsx, .csv and .txt files etc, but can't currently do that. I'm at a loss to understand why MS would provide the capability to change the data source in Desktop, but not provide the same capability in Service. This might sound a bit simplistic, but right now, we have an edit box with the path greyed out. Wouldn’t a drop-down list overcome this issue? Hopefully, someone from the Power BI Development Team reads this and can provide us with an answer and their also their thoughts on this very worthwhile suggestion.
