For every other Microsoft application, there is a mode where if a colleague has open, let's say an excel file, on their machine and I try to open that same file, the file opens for me as read-only. Furthermore, I am unable to override the existing file unless I am the first to open it.
I don't understand why this not a feature for power bi desktop files and would strongly suggest that it is. I don't even care about real time collaboration. Right now we have to have Teams chats to coordinate who is in the file when and on more then a few occasions, we have overwritten one another. This seems like an easy fix but I am sure I am oversimplifying it.
