Number formatting

The number formatting should be in accordance with excel. The options available in excel for number formatting is quite brilliant. I hope Power BI can somehow integrate custom number formatting in the desktop version. Thank you.

Power Bi should be available to create a custom unit format like (w) in electricity power!

enable formatting negative numbers with brackets or even changing color and still remains as number (not text and not currency). exactly like we have in Excel.

I need to be able to display the dates in a custom format WITHOUT them no longer being a date. That way sorting can still happen by date. I need to be able to do things like ddMMMyyyy or dd-MMM-yyyy. Two formats you do not have. Please just give us the freedom to format the date however we want to without restricting us to the list of very few that you have.

For building dashboards for the corporate finance and accounting community, it would be very helpful to include number formatting that allows the user to (1) replace zeros with dashes, (2) show negative numbers in a matrix table with brackets or parentheses, and (3) allow the user to toggle on conditional formatting to highlight negative values in red.

Allow the user to change the default format for different data types and create custom formats (similar to custom formats in Excel).

Most of the world knows better than to use the mm/dd/YYYY format, since it is ambiguous compared to dd/mm/YYYY. But the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) also understand the reversed ambiguity and has chosen an even better format as international standard, namely YYYY-mm-dd (or YYYYmmdd). Please follow international standard.
