I like the way that you can enter hyperlinks into Power BI Desktop or the web interface. I'd like to be able to do the same for Network shares. We have old documents that we don't want on SharePoint Online but need referenced and if the user could click a link to the network location and get the file it would be awesome.

- Taha_HafizNew MemberHello Andrei, In fact, the functionality exist in PBI to open an external link; access a local network drive or open a file directly through a browser but it's not known to Microsoft Admins. Here is what you can do to access a network drive or a file. Tricks: 1. works with Edge or IE browsers 2 use "file://" at the beginning 2. map using "/" instead of "\" https://www.google.ca/ file://abc-fb2/homedir$ file://abc-fb2/homedir$/HafizT/BRD Template.xlsx
- kburckhardNew MemberWould like this functionality as we have an widely used application that stores product images on our network drive that I would like to link to in my report. Since these images range into the thousands and change often, putting them on SharePoint or OneDrive isn't feasible. I can display a link, but clicking on it does nothing. Only work around is copying and pasting the URL from the report into a new browser window.
- COE1New MemberI would also like to be able to have links as: "ms-infopath:ofe%7Cu%7Chttp://asbuiltv4/Systems/ECC-2526.xml" and other strange stuff as well. If user have set the Data category to Web URL, why don't you just send the expression to the default web browser, as a link?
