Merge slicer and visual queries in DirectQuery mode when sourced from the same table
In DirectQuery mode, Power BI sends separate queries for slicers and visuals, even when both are based on the same table. This results in redundant full-table scans and unnecessary load on the data source. It would be more efficient if Power BI could merge these into a single query or allow a deferred visual load option (e.g., a button or toggle) so visuals only query after a slicer selection is made. This would significantly reduce backend reads and improve performance in enterprise environments where import mode is not allowed.
As it stands, you enforce at least two reads of every row in the base table, every time the page loads before a slicer value can cause a third read to restrict the data selection.
