Very good idea; only thing I would add is some kind of mechanism to bulk-format measures i.e. if you've just made 10-20 measures and they all need to be a specific format (#,# or #.#%) you can select them and apply to all. Would save a lot of time rather than clicking on each and updating or hard-coding the format in the DAX.
