In order to connect to Oracle 9.x+ databases in Power BI Desktop, you need to have one of the following two drivers installed in your machine: - ODP.Net: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=272376&clcid=0x409 - System.Data.OracleClient: Packaged with .Net 3.5 framework. Unfortunately, a change included in the May update for Power BI Desktop to detect missing driver requirements has made the 2nd driver not be detected and therefore new queries cannot be created via the "From Oracle" button at the moment. We're working on a fix to this issue for the June update. In the meantime, there are two workarounds: a) Install the ODP.Net driver as described above. This is the recommended driver to use going forward. b) If you want to stick to System.Data.OracleClient, you can work around the driver validation logic issue by using "Blank Query" and typing in "= Oracle.Database" in the formula bar. This will allow you to specify a Server and any other additional options to connect (such as a Command Timeout or a Native DB statement). Thanks, M.

Hi Miguel, Thanks for the recommendations. I've installed the necessary drivers as stated above. However, a message appeared which says that the "connections to this server version are no longer supported". I like to ask if there is a work around through ODBC. Regards, Bobbet Castillo

Hello Georgy and Bobbet, Have you both downloaded the Oracle drivers that are required? https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-desktop-connect-oracle-database/#installing-the-oracle-client Thanks, Chuck
