Matrix Measures or Values on Rows instead of Columns
We need Matrix’s to have the ability to move Measures or Values to rows instead of Columns. This is a definite must have!!! I was in the process of doing a pilot roll out of Power BI to my management team and when this question came up it was a huge miss and got a tremendous amount of groans. This is an everyday view we use and really need this for Power BI to cover the basics. I love the program but we really need this. Please help! To elaborate, if I have sales, quantity sold, asp (average sales price), COGS, Gross Profit and Margin, There’s no way to look at this month over month when the measures are stuck on the columns. It needs to be able to showcase on rows. Thanks for your consideration!

- nishalitNew MemberWe added this feature to our August update to the Power BI Desktop. Read all about it in our blog post: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-august-2017-feature-summary/#valuesOnRows
- daniellebNew MemberWe want to be able to list the measure names in the rows of a grid, as well as in the columns. Currently, this can only be done in the columns. In excel, you can create a pivot table where the default is for the values to go into the columns when you add more than one value- however you can drag these into the rows to change the display of the pivot. Please can we have the same functionality.
- fbcideas_migusrNew MemberThis. I need this. I want to build a matrix that contains several values with time periods as columns. But I'm forced to have a long, horizontal matrix since I can't pivot the values to rows. This is basic functionality that should be there. I'm getting a lot of negative feedback for the lack of this feature as well.

- laguertinNew MemberThis is a huge thing in my company as well. Especially when comparing to other products like Tableau that have gotten a lot of momentum.
- peter56New MemberC'mon powerbi. This is BASIC stuff!! Unbelievable.
- dcresp3New MemberThis is a very powerful feature of Tableau and disappointing not to have in Power BI

Advocate I
This is essential - not having this could limit Power BI adoption.
