If you choose to use OneDrive, you can only choose from the Documents "library". Let me choose from files that are shared with me.

This is extremely relevant as we can use the One drive folder to control the corporate datasets (that are not databases)

Hi. Yes definitely! I am actually trying to do just that and it doesnt work... My idea was that each office share its data using onedrive and I would connect into Power BI. I need to do the opposite then. I hold the data and share on OneDrive for them to keep up to date.

We have a team of field employees auditing files & physical features. Each team member inputs their findings into 365 Excel. Mgmt wants to see progress in real-time. This feature would provide great solution

Is there any update on this? This is how we share files across divisions and this would be amazingly useful.

I workaround this by first reading the data from the shared XLSX in one drive to my local XLSX. However to refresh the data I have to first open the local copy in Excel and refresh it.

This is kind of fundamental, data comes from a number of sources and rarely is the report/dashboard author the data owner. We should not have to fundamentally change the way we work as an organisation in order to harness the data that has already been shared with us.
