Will Thompson, can you elaborate please? There isn't an entry in the Designer? only web. Web doesn't always works with a direct JSON output?

many rest apis return json feeds so definitely needed

In Power BI designer, you've been able to load datasets from a JSON feed for a long time, but these cannot be refreshed from the web version nor added as a new dataset. This seems like one of the most simple and fundamental types of data sources. I come back every few months to see if it's done yet.

Hello, we are willing to use powerbi instead of our custom built dashboard. Like Hamish we keep refreshing this page every 1 month or so but don't see any improvement in this area. Do you have a roadmap or release date to share? We need to move on and therefore know if we can count on PowerBi or not ... Thanks for your time. Julien

To us this is valuable, as we use json in log and collect log via event hub. so we need powerbi to support json to visualize the log

Extremely valuable feature. Just lost a tender because Power BI does not offer proper JSON I/O features.
