Current Challenge:
In Power BI, adjusting visual interactions requires manually selecting each visual and modifying its interaction settings one by one. This can be cumbersome, especially when working with multiple visuals across different report pages.
Suggested Solution:
- Centralized Interaction Management:
- A new feature could allow users to edit interactions across all visuals in one place.
- This feature could present a pop-up window displaying a list of all visuals on the current report page.
- Each visual could have checkboxes showing which interactions are currently active with other visuals.
- The user could easily toggle the interaction settings for all visuals in this centralized window, saving time and ensuring consistency.
- Interaction Overview for Entire Report:
- A separate interaction overview window could provide a comprehensive list of all interactions across all pages in the report.
- Users would be able to see which visuals interact with each other, and this view would allow them to adjust interactions across all pages at once.
- This feature would be particularly helpful when managing large reports with multiple pages and complex interactions, enabling easier maintenance and faster adjustments.
Benefits:
- Time Efficiency: Users can modify multiple interactions at once without needing to click on every visual.
- User-Friendly: A single window for managing interactions would reduce the cognitive load and make the process more intuitive.
- Consistency: Ensuring interactions are applied consistently across visuals and report pages would reduce the likelihood of errors.
Conclusion:
Implementing such a feature would streamline the process of managing visual interactions in Power BI, making it more efficient and user-friendly. This would be especially beneficial for users who work with complex reports and need to frequently adjust interactions across many visuals and pages.

- hb380Advocate II would love something like this! I have a lot of slicers close together and having to manage the interactions between all my visuals is a nightmare when they often block the icons of the other visuals. Something like the slicer sync pane where I could see what each visual is linked to with the ability to check/uncheck boxes would be a such a time saver and prevent unwanted interactions being possible where things get missed (since I have to go through and manage the interactions of every visual every time something new gets added). I'd also like the ability to have visuals set to not interact with anything when they are first created, and then manually turn on only the interactions I want rather than having to opt out of everything.
- k_userRegular VisitorI posted a similar idea to this ages ago and it has disappeared. Just added my vote here, but disappointed there are not more people struggling with this pain. Those little edit interaction icons are not very useful when visuals are closely spaced together, and then I have to hide/show visuals one at a time to get to those icons for EVERY visual I want an interaction with. I would welcome a solution as suggested here, OR a separate Edit Interactions Pane (like the Format, Selection, Build, etc) that when you click on one visual it immediately shows you the relationship with all the other visuals on the page and you can simply check off the interactions you want in a list format vs. finding all the icons on the page. OR a properties type page like the Model View for table-to-table relationships... ANYTHING to help with the hours spent hunting for these icons. Please!
