Hi everyone, we announced the initial public preview of SSRS reports in Power BI last week. You can read more about it in the announcement blogpost - https://powerbi.microsoft.com/blog/public-preview-of-paginated-reports-in-power-bi-premium-now-available/

I came in here specifically to suggest that. I am happy to see that others are on board. I really think that the ability to upload Power View RDLX reports is extremely important to help us move to Power BI (either a 'complete' or partial move). Since we are on the subject, the ability to save Power View sheets from Excel as RDLX files would also be a great help. I understand this might fall out of your scope, but please just keep that in mind 😉

I've added my votes to this one. Just to explain the reason for this, the tool provided by PowerBi is fantastic and covers large number of points. For me and my clients it does provide the types of matrix reports l can generate very easily in SSRS. This is used by our user base for a variety of financial reports.

This is a huge need for one of our customers looking at using Power BI to push them to the cloud, they are heavily invested in SSRS and need to have it as part of their solution.

Last year we were promised that SSRS would be implemented natively as part of Power BI by "the end of [last] summer". Is this still on the roadmap? Without it we cannot move to Power BI as a primary solution.

This will be the best option for teams which is working on building reports for the business as this will be a big step for report building using SSRS

Absolutely! Then power bi can be the source for standard and self-service reporting for us.

Without this Power BI cannot be a replacement for PerformancePoint

Wow this is very good news. It would be awesome if (like with ASC) the report knows who is opening it. So if “Jack” opens the report he will only see sales info concerning his department and if “Pete” opens the same report he will only see sales info for his department. (username () /effective user used as an hidden parameter) If this will be the case I have a lot of customers who will easily be convinced to start using PowerBi. Can’t wait to see how the integration will look like.
