Integrate Powerbi with Pivot tables

Hi, I have used Powerview extensively. Pivot table connected to a Tabular Model is today the best available tool for pivoting. Nothing to beat it. howevere powerview and pivot tables are not integrated to each other, i.e. they do not share the same parameters. The filters I have selected in Powerview shold also filter (optionally) a pivot table also.

I believe that the Excel Pivot Table is a jewel in the crown. the ease with which a mass of numbers can be seen, scrolled up/down, drilled up/down etc.. subtotals, formatting, conditional formatting etc... is something which is not available in any BI tool. Many of my users are more familiar with numbers than graphics (esp the hard core accountants). What we need is a mechanism by which powerview and pivot table can coexist. it is practically impossible to emulate pivot table functionality in any grid of powerview. So instead of reinventing the wheel, why don't you share parameters between powerview and pivot table ? For example if I have selected a country in a powerview map, the pivot table (which may be designed to show a considerable amount of drill down data0 should filter to the selected country. of course whether to link the two should be an option available to the user. I would like to show you some of these use cases.

Business people want to scroll through pages of figures for day to day details. That is why the pivot table functionality is so important. Ideally, you could just deploy an Excel workbook to Power BI that connects to the onprem ssas.

I think it would be great to have a Pivot Table option on the Power View menu. There is a Table option, but that doesn't have the indentation and collapse/expand options that a Pivot Table has. This is especially relevant for Power BI Version 2 because it seems to be all Power View at this point, no more embedded Excel with Excel Services. I like it because there is no more spreadsheet, but if I could just get my Pivot Tables back then I would like it even more.

Pivot Table or Multi Dimensional browser the way it was on SSAS 2008 will be great. The current OLAP browser in SQL 2008 R2, 2012 and 2014 don't let you browse by laying out axes. Most of third party developer controls that integrate into Dashboard have an OLAP browsing control (DevExpress, Syncfusion ,etc.) It is all about Slicing and Dicing in a Dashboard or Report.

It would be great to have Pivot table functionality - I have many calculated fields that I do within Excel in my pivot table, conditional formatting, the whole 9. I'm not sure how to implement that in my data table that my PowerBI view pulls from.

Having Pivot Tables in Power BI (especially PoverPivot functionality) is definitely a huge feature. That would beat out almost any other solution out there that's available.

Yes, it is critical to be able to display data in a cross-tab format like the flexible layout of a pivot table where you can put a dimension on columns or rows, and even nest multiple dimensions on columns or rows.

I don't understand why more people are not voting for this. Having pivottable like functionality would be awesome.

My interpretation is that PowerBI should be an OLAP source for Pivot Tables in Excel. This is a must have. Even better if the pivot tables could be rendered in PowerBI, but Excel and Excel Services would be fine.
