Increase the data export row limit (30,000 rows max) in Power BI Report Server

The capability to export raw data from Power BI is an important function for many users. Presently, the export data limits are as follows and confirmed at the community link below. - Power BI Service (cloud platform): 150,000 row maximum - Power BI Report Server (on-premise platform): 30,000 row maximum Please increase the export limit setting on Report Server to match that of Service. Better yet, increase them both to a much higher limit as requested by others in separate idea posts. http://community.powerbi.com/t5/Report-Server/What-is-the-Export-data-row-count-limit-for-Power-BI-Report/m-p/343951

hi chris - this was under review all the way back in JUNE 2018... so I'm just wondering how long this is going to take to implement as I was proudly selling the capabilities of power bi to our business and this is like an egg in the face... the staff are transitioning from one bi platform to powerbi and due to data sensitivity we are not allowed in the cloud... has to be on-prem. I have 220,000,000+ records and whilst we are not wanting to export all I cant even get 000000.013% of the data to export... our staff are currently heavily reliant on excel, which i'm going to wean them off, but its going to take a long time (like how long before an office becomes paperless)... lifting this restriction will help us immensely - trev

The limits(s) need to match excel. The ability to export to Excel from a visual seems like it should be a standard feature. Can someone please shed some light on the difficulty and/or reluctance to do so? Qlikview exports to Excel almost perfectly. It's not even their product...

It would be GREAT if the limit on Service increases from the current 150,000... But it would be REASONABLE if we could at least get an error message when exceeding this limit like we do on Desktop. Our users have no idea that they are exceeding the download limits and are creating business reports on incomplete sets of data...

This is the number one complaint that we receive about Power BI from end users. It would be a game changer for us (and probably most organizations) if our end users were able to export embedded reports to Excel.

Hey there, ETA within this month? Serious just make it unlimited the extract limit and up until the server breaks down. we can run with the cost and whinging from users haha.

When should we expect the January release?

hi - just wondering if the January 2020 Microsoft Powerbi RS release will allow us to export to another Microsoft product called MS Excel that has a standard 1,048,576 rows? instead of just a measly and extremely lousy 30k rows?

We recently upgraded our on Prem server & I can confirm that as promised, they have implemented Export to Excel - and that gives 150k rows. Not perfect, but not bad either.

Have just found out there is a limit of 150,000 rows when exporting to excel? We are trying to switch reports from another reporting tool (not the reporting tool mentioned in a previous comment) which does not have this limit at all and exports to excel without any problems.
