I was also shocked that it was not possible. That was the first thing I did and disappointing. Now I need to go back and tell my users not now..

Hoping this is delivered soon. This would really help Excel users move on to the best Power BI has to offer

Can this idea status be updated to "Closed/Completed" so all of us can get our votes back 🙂 Per the announcement here http://blogs.msdn.com/b/powerbi/archive/2015/08/20/announcing-the-power-bi-desktop-august-update.aspx

Is this request talking about importing a SSAS Tabular (model / data) into Excel's Power Pivot and/or Power Bi Desktop OR something different? I thought that is what it was saying, but looking at posts it sounds like something different as well.

W/O the ability to draw from analyzed data from Excel, I am much more likely to not make the leap to BI.. And just continue the charting i am doing from Excel pivots.

Hi Miguel, You have mistakenly provided the import excel workbooks into power BI desktop link.I think it should point to this link:https://support.powerbi.com/knowledgebase/articles/665278-analysis-services-tabular-data-in-power-bi-desktop
