This is a screenshot of My hidden Slicer panel which uses a Shape Background to display the slicers. When viewed in High Contrast Mode any colour, the Slicers can not be seen as they blend in with the background colour. Ideally to make this report accessible in High Contrast Mode, we need the Shape Backgrounds to be a different colour (In this Example - a BLACK background) would work
This is High Contrast Mode
This is Normal Mode
This also has the same affect for Pop Up Information boxes as seen below:
High Contrast Mode
Normal Mode - I have removed text for confidential reasons.
I have tried making updates to the report changing backgrounds etc. But it always ends up the same colour and blending in. In power BI Shapes are important to make certain design touches to the report. In particular I use it to create my hidden slicer panel to give me more room for visuals on the report page and to create information pop up boxes that have definitions of measures used in the report and what they mean.
My Idea for Power BI Server is to make Shapes accessibility friendly by ensuring that the background of the shapes is a different colour to the High Contrast mode, or enable certain parts of the report to be edited to allow developers to edit certain backgrounds to ensure the report is visable for all users. Currently when edited in in high contrast mode, the report is conditioned to default back to the background colour in the high contrast mode. Giving no options for editing parts of the report that do not work in this mode. Currently in this status my report development is now unusable in high contrast mode due to the shapes blending in and making half the filters not visible to users that need them.
