Hi ,I am exploring Power BI , I need to know how the power BI works.

I am planning to build DWH in Hadoop (Impala)and I don't want the data to be duplicated in reporting tool layer. Is it possible to build the semantic layer in power BI and make use of the query to run in HADOOP ? and get the result alone to power BI and formatted , similar to Business Objects?
