- The data model being used (e.g. star schema) is totally irrelevant but yes, please do give us the ability to connect to hive tables on any hadoop distro, not just HDInsight.
- You can connect to Hive tables using the ODBC connector, however having an option to direct create a connection to Hive would be very useful.
- Ability to connect to Hive tables defined in the Hive metastore of any version of Hadoop
