Grouping fields: Need Ability to rename the group name/members.

When you group multiple dimensions, what shows as the name is a combination of the all the names of the dimensions that were grouped. Very long, difficult to read. Example, If you group 5 dimensions with the following names: Back Covers Cushion Covers Mattress Covers Chair Covers Table Covers Then, in the visual, it shows the label as Back Covers & Cushion Covers & Mattress Covers & Chair Covers & Table Covers...imagine if you group even larger numbers of dimensions, or dimensions with lengthy names! You should be able to rename this grouping. For example, Change this grouping name to COVERS.

Hi, this is possible today - right click on the group column and chose 'Edit Groups'. In the dialog you can double click the name of the group to rename it. thanks!

I believe this is not the correct answer for the problem Will. I'm experiencing the same. If I group dates in bins of 3 months, for example, I want each item of the group to be called Q1, Q2, Q3,.. rather than using the first month and year of that period. it's not about changing the name of the group, but the items contained on it.

Javi is correct, the suggestion doesn't work. Is there an alternative suggestion for this?

This idea was filed as completed by mistake, as explained by Javi below, because you can't double click on group *members* to rename them, that only works on group names. For people looking for a workaround, the "Power BI" way to do this would be to do the binning by creating an extra column either in Power Query (usually recommended for performance reasons) or with a DAX calculated column. Power BI's binning/grouping UI is a bit rudimentary (e.g. can't uncheck "Include Other group" after the fact) and it hasn't seen much if any improvements since it was added in October 2016. Here's a good resource on this: https://dataveld.com/2018/05/10/manual-groups-bins-power-bi/

This does not work for numeric binning.
