Any news on this ? It would really help in making the dashboard more user-friendly.

Slicers make a great deal of sense on a dashboard. The slicer should only connect to visuals using the same data source. But that is a core requirement. The next requirement is to be able to modify the values from a slicer such that they can be tweaked slightly to feed into other data sources. For example, Opened Date slicer can pass that same value for date to Create Date from another data source. You could do it in PerformancePoint and can do it in SSRS. Same way one slicer can affect multiple visuals on a report.

Um, why even have a dashboard without this?

So, I understand why this is kind of difficult. A visual from a data source different from the slicer cannot not be affected. Two steps for improvement: 1. Ability to pin a slicer, and all visuals with the same data source have the potential to be affected. (good) 2. Ability to modify the values being passed from the slicer into the visual (you could do this in PerformancePoint - better) This unlocks the concept of a front page that is then used to drill into more detailed reports. Cannot convey how important this is. Multi-billion dollar client requesting this, just moving from tableau to Power BI, etc. We're the use case for adoption. 10s of multi-billion dollar clients will want this that aren't currently using Power BI. 100s of prospects that we will pitch and likely convert. Let me do your sales job for you. Please add this.

New to Power NI and frankly, without this feature, I do not see the point of a Dashboard. Report users need to customise their experience to determine and breakdown the information that they are after. A report showing sales for all dates is not very useful for a growing company but if you slice the data my year, month, day of the week, hour of the day, etc and then the data comes alive. I am not going to waste my time on pretty things (i.e dashboards) when functionality is what I am after. I suppose I will have to share my links to the reports and create a web-site to expose them. This is a lot more work for me when all you have to do is add a sliver to a dashboard. Even restricting a Dashboard to one data source would be a start and give us something to work with.

Survey doesn't work. This is taking for ever. If you contact me, I'll help you design this. Frankly, every improvement that isn't this is a slap in the face to the community. Look at the votes.

I agree on the importance to set scope of data displayed in both cloud and mobile dashboards. On mobile dashboard, pressing the chiclet slicer just maximizes the tile in the dashboard -> when pressing the filterbox for instance product category; then going to report -> the slicer is reset not showing your selected filter choice in the opened report. So yeah the problem seems several points: * Restrict the zoom tile function when tapping on cellphone screen (maybe this can be done already). There's is absolutely no idea to zoom a filter KPI or Gauge so this should be an option already! * Pass the selected filter choice both to in dashboard pinned items from the SAME report (either Microsofts filter or chiclet, chiclet makes more sense for big fingers/ small cellphone screens!) * Pass the filter choices from the dashboard on to the affected Report. (Graphs and filter origin from same report then pinned to dashboard) * Globally pass filter choice to multiple dashboards and reports within the same workspace as long as dataset are the same. Found an interest solution when messing about! In Power BI cloud, press the dots in top right corner - > settings -> Enable dashboard flow. Your report now looks as a dashboard in your cellphone = Responsive design, somehow all tiles stack the same layout as I had chosen for mobileview? But at report level i got what I was after=responsive tile layout and being able to click the slicers, NEAT! Really same issue as thread: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/16601431-slicers-in-dashboard-on-mobile-app
