Global filter in dashboards

Allow me to pin a filter to the dashboard that can be associated with one or more pinned dashboard KPIs.

Given that this has been planned since 2015 and has nearly 3000 votes on it, hopefully it will be arriving very soon. Without a global filter, reports that are hundreds of lines become cumbersome and are essentially pointless.

I believe this is a much needed functionality for any dashboard. In the context i am working, all users love the data available and the ease of access, but once looking over the displayed data, the next question pops up, which can only be satisfied by filtering down information!
