All of our reports have an "Information" page that describes the report in detail and provides tips on how to use it. Our reports also have a hidden "Developer Notes" page that provides documentation helpful to any future developer tasked with refining the report.
At present we are reduced to inserting a single text box visualization and typing all of our documenation there. This control is woefully unsuited for long documents. There are formatting errors and inconsistencies everywhere. You can't paste text in from a word processor as the formatting gets utterly mangled.
It would be wonderful to have a means to embed another document into the report. (Remember OLE?) That way I can write my documentation in Word, optionally export that to PDF, and then embed the resulting document in the report page with formatting intact. The option to link to an existing document on the LAN would also be very helpful; that way a developer could update the document without having to republish the report.
