GUI-Based Table Metadata Editing with Integrated AI Auto-Generatio
We propose enhancing the no‑code metadata management tool—allowing in‑place editing of table and column comments—with integrated AI auto‑generation (bulk suggestions) and an approval workflow:
- **One‑Click Editing**: From the table list, click “Edit Comments” to start.
- **AI Auto‑Generation (Bulk Suggestions)**: The AI analyzes your table schema and sample data to propose comments for multiple columns at once.
- **Integrated Approval Workflow**: Review all AI‑generated comments in a preview screen and approve them with a single click.
- **Inline & Rich‑Text Editing**: Use Markdown syntax to refine or extend comments directly in the editor.
- **Preview & Apply Changes**: Once approved, the system runs `ALTER TABLE … COMMENT …` commands behind the scenes.
- **OneLake Catalog Integration**: Approved comments are automatically registered or updated in the OneLake catalog for unified documentation.
By leveraging AI to generate high‑quality metadata proposals and streamlining the approval process, even non‑technical users can rapidly maintain consistent, transparent data definitions. Please vote to support this feature!
