To have the ability to organize reports into folders within a single workspace and restrict access so that specific user groups can only view their designated folders, similar to how permissions are managed in SharePoint

Yes some more granular control over permissions is needed. I'd allow permissions by folder or grouping of some kind but also would allow at the workspace level for admins to have much more overall control and monitoring of permissions in a central location. I'm in a large organization (huge) and we need to submit requests to create Azure entitlement groups and then add people to those groups, and currently either apply their permission to a workspace or an audience. Its a one-size fits all approach that is not flexible. Admins in a workspace should be able to create groups themselves within the space and move users in and out of them, and then group objects in those groups (reports, models, lakehouses, etc) for different developer groups, etc. Some of our developers are not allowed to see everything in our workspace, and our tenant admins restrict the number of workspaces, etc. This makes collaboration across teams difficult. The whole system needs an overhaul.
