Fix 'Fabric Ideas' pages

Understand that this is just a repurposed forums in some fashion, but would be great to fix up this 'Idea' section a bit with some polish.

 

What is 'Top Kudoed Posts' - do you mean most upvoted?  (You use 'Votes' everywhere else)

 

Looking at the first 'Kudoed Post' with 4k upvotes it says "NEEDS VOTES" in all caps.  What?  Needs votes for what, to be considered?  How many votes does it need, is 4k not enough? Is this just a status that means it's not WIP or something?  

 

Also, the top post shows as being posted in 2024 but all the comments are from 2020 - is 2024 when it was created or last updated?  Confusing.

 

There are like 30 items in the 'Categories' dropdown filter, did you use a RNG to determine ordering?  Some Fabric items are near the top, some are near the bottom, it's obviously not alphabetical.

 

Having a 'Top Ideas' tab is silly if you default to including Completed ideas.  Default to NON Completed ideas otherwise the first several pages by default are items that might have been completed years ago.

Thanks again for your feedback! We have planned the following items: a scrub of terms in the UI, changes to the "Needs Votes" status, and improvements to current ideas views so they are more intuitive and add value. Categories (labels) are already in alphabetical order.

I believe the old comments on new posts are caused by ideas which were merged. It seems most aspects of merged ideas are not on the new site (no "merged" status in dropdown, no merged idea list on ideas that previously had one, vote totals on ideas have dropped - some say these are the merged ideas). So maybe the comments are the only thing left and it's not clear that they came from a merged item. The new site breaks links that were to the old site (e.g. Miguel's Vision Board now is full of broken links). If you choose "Status" it forgets your Hot / Top New selection. In comments, Preview doesn't work and newlines are removed, making formatting a longer comment properly impossible. I can't find the view that was there before showing ideas I posted / voted on, etc.

Hi everyone, I'm facing an issue with updating the data source credentials for my OData source. The error message I'm receiving is: Failed to update data source credentials: The credentials provided for the OData source are invalid. (Source at https://loyaltrademanagementltd315.sharepoint.com/sites/pwa/_api/ProjectData/[en-us]/_api/ProjectDat...].) I've verified my credentials and ensured that I'm using the correct authentication method, but the problem persists. @kleigh thanks for the feedback! Vijay may have mentioned this: we have work underway on merged ideas. Regarding the number of votes, the reason they decreased (noticeable on ideas with lots of votes) is that we scrubbed spam as we migrated data to the new platform. Vote counts are actually more accurate now. Merging features are there, but only internally for Microsoft. We’ve thought about opening that up to Community Super Users and MVPs and bringing automation into it. Do you have any thoughts on that?

@riccarrasco Back when the form was there, I was definitely the top submitter of duplicates for Visibility (Hide an item). But if you gave me a form that could change the site directly, I likely wouldn't press the button myself. I'd prefer to keep on just suggesting changes. But I think for high reputation users happy to take it on, having them do some cleanup themselves sounds like it would work.
