Filterspane toggle control (chevron) hitbox is too small in Power BI Service-difficult to open/close

In Power BI Service (web), the Filters pane expand/collapse control is currently a very small chevron/arrow at the edge of the Filters pane. The clickable area (hitbox) is extremely narrow, and users must click very precisely to open or close the pane. Compared to previous behavior, the interaction area appears significantly reduced, leading to a poor usability experience.

Why this matters / Impact:

  • Users frequently miss the click target and have to attempt multiple times.
  • This is especially problematic for:
    • Users on high-resolution monitors (small UI elements)
    • Users with accessibility needs or reduced motor precision
    • Touchpad users
    • Any scenario where fast navigation between visuals and filters is required
  • It increases user frustration and reduces productivity during report exploration.
  • steps to reproduce:

    1. Open any report in Power BI Service (Reading mode).
    2. Ensure the Filters pane is visible on the right.
    3. Try to collapse the Filters pane by clicking the small chevron arrow at the edge.
    4. Observe that only a very small pixel area responds; clicking slightly outside does nothing.

    Expected behavior:

    • The clickable area to expand/collapse the Filters pane should be larger and easier to hit (similar to earlier behavior).
    • The hitbox should extend across a wider vertical strip, or the chevron should be larger.

    Actual behavior:

    • The chevron is visually small and has a very limited hitbox, requiring precise clicking.

    Suggested improvement:

    • Increase the hitbox size for the expand/collapse control (even if the chevron stays small visually).
    • Optionally allow user setting / accessibility option to increase panel toggle target size.
    • Consider adding an explicit “Collapse” button area or edge highlight on hover.

Frequency: 100% reproducible across reports (including new/blank reports).

Environment: Power BI Service (browser). Issue is independent of report content, dataset, permissions, or workspace settings.
