Filtering by selecting data point in time line chart

I'm currently trying to build an executive summary for data quality reports and have the exact same need.

Ability to select data in visuals by drawing a polygon over the visual Draw a polygon over the visual (e.g. scatterplot) and filter other visuals (or data exports) by the selection

Would also be good to inlcude this functionality to the combo charts that include a line (line and clustered column chart, line and stacked column chart, etc......

Similar need also with area charts

There seems to be a few ideas along the same subject here, shame they can't all by combined. This is a great idea, I would use it every report I develop.
