Fetch XML is easy, can be downloaded from Advance Find and support joins that are beyond OData capabilities for CRM. Why not have a UI to paste the fetch xml and do reporting, works for views also because that how CRM treats its own data.

Using Odata functionality is taking much time to load tables and its tedious to modal your data where we have used option fields. Adding FetchXML features will definitely enhance PowerBI capabilities and speed up the process of creating dashboards and reports from CRM online.
