Feature Request for Dynamic Gradient Color Support in Power BI Gauge Charts

Dear Power BI Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

I would like to submit a feature request to enhance the functionality of Gauge charts in Power BI. Currently, the color gradient settings in Gauge visuals allow only static numerical inputs for the minimum and maximum limits of the gradient. There is no option to use dynamic measures to define these gradient boundaries.

This limitation restricts users who need to display dynamic indicators where the high and low boundaries frequently change based on data or slicer filters. Supporting dynamic gradient colors based on measures would enable:

  • More flexible and meaningful visualizations of live or changing data.

  • Advanced indicators that adapt automatically to the current dataset without manual adjustments.

  • A significant improvement in user experience and efficiency, minimizing the need for complex workarounds such as SVG coding or custom visuals.

I kindly suggest adding the capability to select measures (dynamic values) for the gradient limits in Gauge charts, allowing customizable and data-driven gradient rules rather than fixed static numbers.

This feature will greatly enhance the power and versatility of Power BI Gauge visuals and meet the needs of advanced reporting workflows.

Thank you for your continuous effort in improving Power BI. I look forward to seeing this enhancement in a future release.

Best regards,
Zaydoon
