Feature Request: Save/Export Queries in SQL Analytics Endpoint
Hello Fabric Team,
I’d like to suggest a small but valuable enhancement for the SQL Analytics Endpoint experience in Data Engineering:
Request: Provide a built‑in “Save” or “Download” option for SQL scripts
Current Behavior: When composing complex queries in the SQL Analytics Endpoint editor, there is no straightforward way to persist them locally or export the script.
Desired Enhancement: Add buttons or menu items to:
Save the current query as a named “snippet” within the workspace
Download the SQL script (e.g., as .sql file) to the user’s machine
Benefit:
Enables version control and local backups of ad‑hoc analyses
Simplifies collaboration—users can share exported scripts with colleagues or track changes via Git
Reduces the risk of losing intricate queries if the browser session ends
Thank you for considering this enhancement. It would greatly improve productivity and governance for those of us building and iterating on SQL-based analytics in Fabric.
Best regards,
Sheik
