Hi Team
We are implementing Fabric and and due to our organisational policies, granting Devs the Workspace Admin Role poses issues as it breaches access management policies. Devs would be able to add users to their Workspace, bypassing standard controls.
Below is a summary of a response from one of your technical team confirming the position.
It would be great if you could consider an additional role for users who require this capabilities.
Thanks
"After internally for any alternative avenues, we have confirmed that the current setup for Git integration with Microsoft Fabric Workspaces requires – in all scenarios -- the Workspace Admin role for actions such as connecting, disconnecting, and syncing with Git repositories (Git integration process - Microsoft Fabric | Microsoft Learn). This means that non-admin users cannot perform these Git operations without having the ability to add other users to the workspace, which we understand conflicts with your company's security policy."
