Expand Power BI Report Builder data connectors similar to Power BI Desktop

Currently Power BI Report Builder has a limited set of data connectors. Given that this tool is included with Power BI Premium, the data connectors available should closely mirror those available in Power BI desktop. The same Database connectors available in Power BI Desktop ( cloud and On prem) should at minimum be available in Report Builder, to truly compliment the Power BI service, beyond the few core DBs currently available. Core cloud based online services connectors should also be made available in Report Builder, such as Salesforce,Google/Adobe Analytics,Dynamics,Marketo,MS Exchange,Sharepoint etc..at minimum the ones with a large user base. Enhancing the connector offering in Report Builder would go a long way and improve adoption.

This is much needed. Why do we want to use SSRS Report Builder for Power BI RS ? Why not Power BI Report Builder ? so that we can get KPIS, Measures everything.

Currently I have to use Power BI datasets as a workaround to pull data into the Paginated Report. I think it would be a great idea to connect dataflows directly like it is already possible in the Power BI Desktop.

Currently we are unable to use Snowflake stored procedures with parameters to filter data before returning it to our Power BI report or to pass filters to Snowflake. We get the following error "An error occurred while executing the query. ERROR [07002][Snowflake][ODBC](10690) Expected descriptor records does not exist during query execution." when we attempt to do so and Microsoft support has confirmed this is not currently supported. This is preventing us from converting our on premise reports and migrating everything to the Power BI Service.

Using the Snowflake ODBC connector is currently supported but direct native connection from Power BI Paginated Reports to Snowflake is not. In order to be able to use paginated reports with snowflake we need to install the ODBC driver on a server and then use the power BI gateway to connect to snowflake. This makes reports development and use extremely difficult and inefficient. Please add a native connector so we can connect directly from report builder and power bi service to snowflake.

As far as I know dataflows cannot be connected as a data source in a Paginated Report yet. If I am wrong, please let me know. 🙂

Currently Power BI report builder is supported for Power BI Service it would be a great enhancement to have the new report builder support for Power BI report server (on premises) with more wide range data source support .

Hi, it would be good to see additional connectors for the Power BI Report Builder to include ODBC and Impala. This would really help with report migration where fixed format reports are still required against these data sources

Snow flake data source connection option is not available in power builder to develop paginated reports. If same data source connections available in builder like desktop , we can copy the DAX query from desktop builder. Thanks.

Collecting votes here for all sources that would be supported via Power Query including Snowflake, Dataflows etc.
