We often have additional statistical information on our data points, like min/max, standard deviation (error), percentiles, etc. It would be nice to be able to render at least error bars showing the confidence interval for our data points. Standard deviation could be provided on a separate column which we could drag into the visual. It would be nice to have this basic feature in the base product without having to install custom visuals. (I could not find a custom visual for this either.)

- Standard deviations is a critical visualization for all our work. I'd really love this feature because we do them in other tools today.
- Yes, this is essential, we need people to understand the intelligence not just the data and without this people fixate on hard values. Really need to be able to integrate CIs / error bars into as much of this as possible please.
- This would be tremendous. I am constantly working around the absence of confidence bands in other tools. Ideally, I'd like to show a time series with an area (for confidence) and line for predicted/observed as well as a slider/slicer to filter.
- The Excel way would be OK, but we also need to be able to plot a line with a confidence band around it - like the projection feature
- Agree this would be good - and something along the lines of how you add them in Excel would work. Someone could create an r visual to do this, but it could be added to the existing bar and line graph visuals. - Has anyone produced a custom visual that does this yet? This function is really needed when displaying statistical data. It needs to have the ability of entering your own value rather than just calculating SD.

- Very surprising to me that this feature isn't already included! PowerBI already has the data - users should be able to set their confidence interval and have error bars appear on charts.
