I'd like to ensure the default value enhancement isn't restricted to date-values, which is a common scenario. Other scenarios are selection from a list of values e.g. currency codes. If the multiple ccy codes are selected e.g. no slicer value is selected, the report is meaningless since amounts of different ccy's can't be aggregated. If a single value is selected at development time but does not exist in the dataset at runtime, the report will be blank. We need the ability to select an initial value from a column, first, last, whatever.

Ideally would be able to set the default value of a filter based on another value, e.g., select year where 'Is Current Year' equals 1.

In desperate need of this. Without this, a lot of the slicers i have in my reports render useless. Could you please implement this!

I suggest to edit the slicer to be like the filter in the SSRS i.e to be able to add default selection as well as if no item selected the report should not select "All" by default as happen now

This is a related request, but not exactly the same. It would be great to be able to force a selection in a filter using the slicer. I'm working with data of various regions where the aggregation doesn't make sense if there is no region selected (i.e., percentages that shouldn't be added/averaged/etc.). I have been using the customized Chiclet app to do this, but given the new syncing feature of slicers across report pages (that doesn't work with the Chiclet app), it would be great to be able to force a selection in the slicer native to Power BI.
