Epic idea: Apply filter selections automatically

Imagine a world where report creators can automatically apply slicer and filter selections based on specific logic, revolutionizing data analysis and user experience. This innovative approach eliminates any need for complex workarounds, optimizes slicer functionality, and paves the way for more efficient and effective data reporting.

Ok, please make this priority. This must always show the latest month/year.

This is really important. As it stands now, when you save a slicer with a value selected, the selected value is not displayed when you come back into the report so you have no idea what filters in the slicers are active unless you scroll through the list. with big lists in the slicers (like with dates), this is clumsy and can easily lead to misinterpretation.

Also, slicer needs ability to enforce single selection only. Currently users can still ctrl+click and select multiple items.

I agree on the importance. This should be done anytime somebody develops a filter tool. Extremely important.

It's not a complete tool without such a feature. There should also be a slicer setting to enforce users to select at least one item of a slicer so users don't have an option to select "all" like all dates.

yes, please allow to set default value for the slicer. It would be nice to have a calendar visual as a date slicer.

I currently assessing Power BI as an alternative to an interactive excel worksheet but not having this option has limited the applications usefulness.

Another reason to have a default selection and not allow "All" for a slicer is sometimes we have reports that are reporting on a very detailed level that you would want to force the user to slice to avoid overly large queries.

Yes this is needed in the case where you have data that if not filtered doesn't present useable data
